Confessions of a Broken Heart (Shitsuren no kokuhaku)

[Started - Still Accepting]

Kamiko reached over and turned off her alarm. She sat up in her bed, stretching as she yawned. She turned her head and looked out the window. It was still a faintly lit darkness outside. It was only five thirty after all. She always woke up early, but school didn't start til after seven. She got out of bed and grabbed her uniform, quickly getting dressed. She glanced at the clock again. Five forty-two. She quickly put her shoes on and ran out of her room. It was cold the moment she walked outside of her home. It was winter. The news reported that it would be cold enough for snow soon. She didn't mind however. She loved the cold weather. A smile crossed her lips as she headed towards her morning job. She worked at a small health food store near the dorms by the school. She worked for about an hour in the morning til someone came in for their shift, then went back after school and stayed from three to nine. Then she went home, showered, went to violin practice, did homework, then did it all over again the next day, having a tendency to pass out at her desk sometimes. Not to mention having to keep up with her mother's demands to keep from getting in trouble. Was she pushing herself too hard? She hadn't gone to bed til after one this morning. She covered her mouth and yawned again. Today was going to be a long day. She hadn't gotten much sleep lately and the exhaustion was catching up to her.

Setsuka groaned as she heard her sister moving about in her room. She couldn't even open her eyes. She was always passed out long before her sister went to bed, but she was pretty lazy to put it bluntly. When she heard her sister leave out the front door, she lifted her head, her eyes half open. "I don't know how she does it..." She looked at the clock. Five forty-three. She wasn't going to be able to fall back to sleep before her alarm went off at six, so she forced herself out of bed. She walked sleepily over to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She looked horrible. She didn't bother to take her make-up off before bed, so her mascara left black circles sloppily around her eyes. "Damn." She quickly washed her face, then proceeded to get ready for school.

Daisuke had already been up since five and was at school. He was studying to become a teacher, so he often met with the senior instructors in the morning to help them go over the daily planners. It was almost six and it seemed there was a substitute for his class today, so he could have slept in. It was a little annoying. There wasn't much to do but kill time. He walked over to a bench in front of the school and sat down. He reached into his back and pulled out his laptop to check his e-mails. Empty. Not surprised. None of the colleges he had been applying for since the beginning of the year have answered him back yet. And it wasn't like he had any close friends that would bother to e-mail him either. A slight disappointment hit him. It's not like he had time to meet people after all. He was busy almost twenty-four seven. When he did have free time, he didn't know what to do with himself. Like right now. He was alone at school on his computer. How... "Pathetic," he said his thoughts out loud. He sighed, slowly closing his computer as the depression deepened at his own thoughts of himself.

Zane woke up to a smack to the back of the head and quickly sat up. "What the fuck did you do that for!?" He glared up at his brother. "Time to get up. Your alarm was annoying me." Aedan took a step back as his brother went to grab him and watched as Zane fell onto the floor. "Idiot..." He turned and walked towards the door. "I'm only going for the first period to get my work for the day. Promise me you'll stay there today." Zane glared at his brother as he sat up. "Dick wad...," he said after Aedan left. "You don't have to stay all day, so why should I?" He grumbled. He stood up and with a huff, went to get ready for school.

Aedan left the dorm, hearing his brother's comments before actually walking away. It's not that he didn't want to stay at school, he just didn't like hearing what anyone had to say about him. How they made fun of him for the way he was. That they ridiculed him for something he was born with. His 'gift' as his mother called it. Not to mention his eyes were red and purple. His hair mainly covered that fact, but he has heard his fair share of comments. People tend to use the word freak a lot. He walked down the stairway of the dorm and looked around the empty lobby. Hardly anyone actually left this early in the day. He sighed. His brother was the only one who actually acknowledged his existence. He headed out the front door. In a way, he didn't mind it. No friends meant he couldn't get hurt by anyone. But...he wanted to know what it was like to have a friend. To be able to smile. He walked through the streets towards his school, dreading the time he was going to have to spend there.
